Early summer mornings at the Bürgenstock Resort have a special kind of calm. The guests are still at breakfast, the garden is quiet, and a soft haze hangs over Lake Lucerne far below. That is exactly the atmosphere he wanted for his proposal.
We set up a simple, beautiful scene in the spa garden: a bouquet of white and pastel flowers on the old stone wall, the lake and the town of Lucerne in the background. When they came around the corner, she had no idea. A few seconds later he was down on one knee on the stone path, and she said yes with the biggest smile.
After the first hugs, the happy tears and a very proud wave to the camera, we took our time for a relaxed portrait session around the resort. We walked through the garden and along the lawns with views of the Rigi and the Pilatus, took ring close-ups, and then moved up to the terraces with the glass balustrades and the famous round window, where Lake Lucerne seems to be framed like a painting.
The Bürgenstock is one of my favourite places for proposals in Switzerland. Every corner offers a different backdrop, from green gardens and old stone walls to modern architecture and wide lake panoramas, and the light in the morning is soft and flattering.
