Some proposals are simple and spontaneous. This one was a real production, and it was worth every detail. On a warm June evening at the Bürgenstock Resort, the spa garden terrace was transformed: two tall golden frames covered in white flowers, candles along the stone wall, and Lake Lucerne glowing in the evening haze below.
They walked hand in hand across the lawn towards the flowers, the Pilatus silhouetted in the distance. Standing by the wall with the whole lake in front of them, he asked the question, and she said yes. What followed was pure emotion: a long embrace, a kiss, and a first look at the ring in the golden light.
As the sun went down we continued with a quiet, romantic portrait session. She wore a veil, which made the evening feel almost like a small wedding. We photographed them under the birch tree with the sun shining through the leaves, sitting together on the grass looking out over the hills, and finally on the terraces with the glass balustrades and the iconic round window as the sky over Lake Lucerne turned soft pink and gold.
Sunset at the Bürgenstock is simply magical for a proposal. The light is warm and gentle, the views over Lake Lucerne are endless, and with a thoughtful setup like this one the whole place turns into a stage for one of the most important moments in life.
